School ki kahaniyan

Wow this is a good title i guess

Most of us have fond memories of school

Let me start with some early days of school as far as my memory goes, well it does go further and i have a very pleasant memory which maybe shall share later

So as a primary school student, of a convent, only girls school

How would you typically assume it to be ?

A large real large school compound, only girls and woemn around (nuns, teachers, helpers all of them) and just a gardener uncle the only male around

It had a large stadium, 2 huge halls, a basketball court, a largeeeee playground, a inhouse chappel, what more could one ask for in a school

And classrooms large enough and such that all standards from class kg to class 10 and 4 sections of each could study together

This was definitely one of its kind in a city like Mumbai where place is a constraint

As a kid this was my favourite place, and it continued to grow fonder as i grew

Why so ?

Kids usually go play with building friends, have some or other classes to attend to or some or other activity or hobby

Well as a kid i had no where to go i guess

The kids in my building were not someone i enjoyed to be with

As grown ups we may end up pretending, kids dont, we also did not when we were kids

The kids in my building were “ wierd” if i have to call them

So i decided not to engage with them(am i able to do or decide for myself this soon now? Maybe no)

How logical or illogical does this sound

Well would deliberate on this again

For now back to the kahani school wali

There was this school craze , to play around to be there every single day

My school helped me get into eating habits better too

But most important maybe coz i did not have friends elsewhere

And while i thought i had decided not to be with those building kids, i guess my Parents decided this also for me(which all this while i felt was my decision)

School friends somehow have a different connect

Maybe because you have seen them in the true form which you were too at that time

My feelings were similar for them

The kind of problems were different than we have now, lemme list down few:

Why is my friend sitting or talking to another girl

Who is my class room partner

Who would i take to distribute chocolates on my birthday

Who should i call my best friend in school essay

Or rather why has …. Not called me her best friend in the essay and so forth

So much of homework, no time to play in the compound

And a very typical one coming up , school uniform is longer than the knee level so u may end up getting a punishment

Do you realise one thing? While we say most problems are different than we have now

There is one thing in common, we all craved for attention

Be it from your best friend, or teacher

This eventually gets carried forward in turn these illogical or petty problems turn up as bigger insecurities for few

Things which seem illogical to parents for their kids take logical shape in defining ones character

Not largely though, these are also influenced by how where you are brought up and your overall value system

Attitude is something you cannot really teach , it comes from within, i truly believe in this and this applies to personal as well as professional relationships

Certain things of school as a even little kid like just jumping around harmlessly or feeling happy over little things appear cute and naughty and appear so logically fine for the kids

If you ever find an adult just being happy over little things, people around knowingly or unknowingly would make efforts to know why and try to make him unhappy

Books of all times would give gyan to find happiness over smaller things in life, but its takes an effort to practice which kids manage effortlessly

There is so much more to this and school kahaniyan :)

Would write more in my next one :)
